Welcome to the Sarett Estate.

Jan Roelants (1906 – 1960)    Edith Feiner Sarett (1923 – 2008)

The Estate seeks to share the rarely-seen artworks of Jan Roelants, a mid-century Dutch painter in New York, whose works offer a fresh view into the American reflection on European modernism in 1940s and 50s New York.

The Estate also owns the entire œuvre of Roelants’ student, Edith Feiner Sarett. She was a Holocaust survivor who studied theater and found herself in Greenwich Village in the 1950s. In 1952, she starred in Picasso’s Desire Caught by the Tail, then left theater and studied painting with Roelants and Esteban Vicente. She went on to make her mark as a painter in New Orleans in the 1980s and 90s.

Jan Roelants, Self Portrait, oil on canvas, 28 x 24 in.

Edith Feiner Sarett, Untitled, mixed media on canvas, 32 x 28 in.

The Sarett Estate is currently seeking exclusive representation of either artist.
